Check out the great work being done
right now by enthusiastic people from around the world.
Together we really can make a difference!
Well,
Ubuntu's Volunteer Initiative has been blossoming.
Aside from surfing, and having loads of fun on the
off-time, our volunteers have;
Repainted and brightened up the interior of the Project
Building (Thanks Lena)
Bought soccer balls, vests, goalposts, a whistle and
set-up the much loved afternoon soccer team (thanks
Ben)
Set-up a brilliant clothing donation system at several
guesthouses, resulting in 37 kg's of clothes already
being donated (thanks Tyler)
Steam-cleaned and repainted the exterior of the building
(thanks Pete & Jason)
and saved alot of indiginous plants from destruction,
replanting them along the beachfront under the guise
of the Supertubes Surfing Foundation (thanks again

"Hey man working
with the street kids completely changed my life.
Just
wanted to thankyou for having an idea and making
it happen. Keep it
going man."

"As i was already heading
over to Africa as i had done before and knew there
was a stop over in South Africa i made plans with
a friend to leave 2 weeks early to go to Jeffreys
Bay. Somewhere I've always wanted to go as a surfer
(Well still trying). After finding Ubuntu Guest
house on the net it was to easy to book and organise
everything as well as volunteering just down the
road at Joshua's Project thanks to Jamie.

I
found the 2 weeks to be the best holiday I've had
the guest house is awesome i love it lots of space,
really colorful, great view, close to everything,
very affordable and great for meeting new people
from all over the world (no seriously i want your
house). A really cruisy and mellow place with really
friendly people.
We also volunteered at Joshua's project a center
that provides schooling, bathing and food among
other things for disadvantage kids. We were able
to paint a few classrooms and do a few maintenance
jobs around the place to help out. A great experience
which i would recommend to everyone even if just
for a day. Did i mention the guest house is awesome!!!!
I'll definitely
be back cant wait and a huge thanks to Clinton made
us feel really welcome and helped us out with everything."

"Working for the Joshua Project was an eye opening
experience that I found both interesting and fulfilling.
Unlike large nonprofit organizations, there isn’t
a lot of hand holding or red tape at the Joshua Project.
As a result, one individual can really affect a lot
of change. Having an interest and background in education,
I was able to create my own lesson plans and work
directly with the kids. As long as you have a strong
idea of what you want to accomplish and how you want
to do it, the project is open to the implantation
of new activities and programs. Few organizations
allow for such a hands-on experience.
