Our surf trips are 7-14 days in total, covering the wave-rich area from Jeffreys Bay to Cape Town, including the Garden Route and the West Coast. Due to the success of these tours we also now offer trips into the fabled Wild Coast region.
Our SA Tourism registered surf guides have been running surf tours along this coast since 2002, and have an indepth knowledge of the area and all of its surf breaks. Accommodation is in private rooms in quality backpackers all with walking distance to the waves. Breakfast & Dinner included.

A sample trip
Day 1-6 Jeffreys Bay.
Surfers are met by the guide on arrival at Port Elizabeth Airport, and transferred directly to the surf mecca of Jeffrey's Bay. During this week you will be staying at Ubuntu Guesthouse, overlooking the surf and a 1 minute walk to the world class waves nearby. The accommodation is in private rooms, there is free internet access, and the guesthouse is of a quality standard, great location and always popular with surfers from SA and overseas.

While in J-Bay you will get to surf the best spots every day with local knowledge. Your guide will point out the keyholes (safe gaps in rockshelf to paddle out and come in), show you who's who and who not to paddle inside of ;) We'll check out the Billabong Factory, visit board shapers, and check out the town and its culture.

A special game-viewing trip will be made to visit a nearby game-park, where there is the opportunity to see many African animals such as giraffe, zebra, buffalo at close range. The centre breeds lions, and a highlight of the day is spending hands-on time playing with the baby lion cubs.

There are 6 quality waves in Jeffreys Bay, catering from competent beginner to Top44. We will also make a trip to Cape St Francis nearby, home to another 5 quality waves such as Seal Point and Bruces Beauties.

Garden Route surf images :: Secret spot | Secret Spot | Mossel Bay | Still Bay | Victoria Bay

Day 7-9 Garden Route. 300km of coastal roads with many a world-class point and beachie tucked in behind the dense forests and hills. We spend three days on the garden route, staying overnight at Victoria Bay, home to SA's most consistent right point, and Mossel Bay with a variety of good reefs and beachbreaks.

En-route we visit a top-class Elephant Sanctuary, where there is the chance to walk hand-in-trunk with a full-grown African elephant, plus feed the ele's by hand. The world's highest bungyjump (216m) at Bloukrans Bridge is an optional extra that daredevils may choose to do.

West Coast surf images :: Derde Steen | Table Mountain | Elands Bay | West Coast | Table Bay

Day 10-12 West Coast. Starting on the northern beaches of Cape Town, with a magnificent view of Table Mountain, the roadtrip scours the coast's many bays and headlands up to the fabled Eland's Bay and its spinning left-hand pointbreak. This area is unique, with a desert-feel and powerful uncrowded surf, ranging from punchy beachbreaks to several world-class pointbreaks.

Cape Peninsula surf images :: Llandudno | Cold-snap | The Hoek | Peninsula | Dunes

Day 13-14 Cape Town. Spend the next two days scoring surf and checking out some of what Cape Town has to offer. Experience African Epic's unique Cape Peninsula surf tour, where we drive right around Table Mountain, and aim to surf in both the Indian AND Atlantic ocean on the same day! On the final morning we will take a trip up to the top of Table Mountain to check out the awesome views off the bottom of Africa, finishing off an African surf tour of Epic proportions. Surfers are then transferred to the airport, or Cape Town accommodation if staying on.

Timeframes:
Surf Tour start dates are flexible, subject to availability. You are booking a personalised surf tour, but if other willing surfers enquire about the same dates, you will be given the option to include them on the trip. This would obviously dramatically reduce the tour fee.

The best months for waves are May to October, expect clean waves in the 3-6ft range, but we offer the surf tours year round. We do not run trips over July.
